Data Export
Export your job application data anytime. Your data belongs to you.
Why Export Your Data
There are several reasons to export your data:
- Backup: Keep a local copy of your job search history
- Analysis: Use spreadsheets to analyze patterns in your applications
- Reporting: Generate reports for career coaches or mentors
- Portability: Move your data to another system if needed
How to Export
There are two places where you can export your data:
From the Applications Page
- Navigate to the Applications page
- Click the Export button in the header
- A CSV file will download to your computer
This exports all your applications with their current data.
From Settings
- Go to Settings from the sidebar
- Scroll to the Data Management section
- Click Export All Data
This provides a complete export including applications, contacts, interviews, and more.
Export Format
Data is exported in CSV (Comma-Separated Values) format, which can be opened in:
- Microsoft Excel
- Google Sheets
- Apple Numbers
- LibreOffice Calc
- Any text editor
Applications Export Includes:
- Company name
- Job title
- Job URL
- Status
- Priority
- Location
- Work type
- Platform
- Salary range
- Date applied
- Summary and notes
- Resume used
Full Data Export
The full export from Settings includes all your data:
Applications
All job applications with complete details and status history.
Companies
Company information including notes and website URLs.
Contacts
Recruiter and hiring manager contact information.
Interviews
Interview history including dates, types, and notes.
Resumes
Resume version names and descriptions.
Goals
Your application goals and tracking history.
Tips for Using Exported Data
Regular Backups
Export your data periodically (weekly or monthly) to maintain a backup of your job search history.
Analyze with Pivot Tables
Use pivot tables in Excel or Google Sheets to analyze response rates by company type, platform, or time period.
Track Progress Over Time
Compare exports from different dates to see how your job search has progressed.
Data Rights
TrackMyRoles supports your data rights:
- Right to Access: Export all your data anytime
- Right to Portability: Data is in standard CSV format
- Right to Deletion: Delete individual records or all data from Settings
